Megyn Kelly was supposed to be a harbinger of Fox News' "gay rights revolution," but she's used her primetime spot to enable some of the country's most extreme anti-LGBT activists. During his segment, Hooper urged Kelly to hold Perkins accountable for his extensive history of bigoted rhetoric. Because I'll ask him," Kelly promised. Hooper pointed to Perkins' endorsement of a Ugandan bill that would have imposed the death penalty for homosexuality, his claim that gay people face "eternal damnation," and his comparisons of gay people to terrorists. Megyn Kelly Was Always Trash | them.
Skip navigation! Story from News. Four days after police in Kenosha, Wisconsin shot Jacob Blake seven times as his three young sons watched from the backseat of his car, former Fox News darling Megyn Kelly is using her online platform to defend the officers. In a series of tweets, Kelly repeatedly pushed the racist, pro-police talking point that Black victims of police violence, including Blake, were resisting arrest — and therefore responsible for their own brutalization. The year-old survived the shooting but is partially paralyzed. There is no excuse for this kind of thing happening time and time again. Breaking News: Megyn Kelly Was Always Trash
When Megyn Kelly was terminated by NBC in January of , the network still had to pay her tens of millions of dollars. While the former Fox News host claims to have plenty of broadcasting opportunities, she currently seems content to post wildly unpopular opinions on Twitter. The journalist has grown increasingly Trumpian over the years.
While I will not deny the importance of that, what continues to frustrate me about Kelly is that she can be celebrated for her lone good act but never fully held accountable for the other deplorable ways she uses her platform — such as actively providing safe haven for bigots or casually engaging in bigotry herself. That case has netted national media attention because it will decide whether or not folks like Phillips can legally discriminate against gay couples in the name of Jesus. Should the Supreme Court rule in his favor, it will open up the floodgates for more people who provide services doctors, dentists, your favorite fryer at Popeye's, etc. Moreover, it will likely motivate racists, sexists, and xenophobes to cram the courts with cases to get their own bigotry perks.
